Whose transformation is your favorite?
Synopsis
On the run, Eddie and Venom face pursuit from both worlds. When circumstances tighten, they are forced to make a heartbreaking decision that could spell the end of their symbiotic partnership. Check out some of our favorite superheroes in suit and incognito. Andy Serkis was interested in returning to directing after his involvement in Venom 2 (2021), but was unable to do so due to his commitments to Animal Farm (2025) (which he had previously postponed to direct the first), so screenwriter Kelly Marcel took over as director of this movie. Still, Serkis would voice the character of Knull. In the establishing shot of Las Vegas, you can see the Sphere, a structure completed and open in 2023.

However, in the movie, Eddie mentions that he and Venom were together for a year. The first Venom movie takes place in 2018, so this movie takes place in 2019, 4 years before the Sphere is supposed to exist.. Venom: Eddie… Featured in The 7PM Project: Episode of 25 .October 2024 (2024). My relationship with the Venom franchise has been rocky. The first one I have a soft spot for, the second one I absolutely hate and now we’re getting closer to the trilogy and thankfully it’s an improvement.
The action is inventive and the humor is engaging
Venom: The Last Dance works best when it focuses on Eddie and Venom’s story instead of trying to set up the future of the Sonyverse. If you didn’t like the previous Venom movies, this one won’t change your mind. It’s still messy, but it’s more correct than its predecessors. This is easily the most extensive and advanced of the group. It takes its time with the characters, letting us sit with them instead of rushing to the next action set piece. Still a PG-13, it packs a lot more gore than its predecessors.
Eddie and Venom’s relationship has never been more real
He also doesn’t shy away from being personal and emotional. I’ll admit it – I cried a few times at the end. Some may be disappointed with Knull’s portrayal, but I personally liked it. He feels like an overriding threat rather than a one-off villain and a "God of Darkness" he gets the Thanos-esque treatment he deserves. Don’t get me wrong—the movie is still bad, technically speaking—but he’s aware of it. Instead of being "bad bad" chooses it to be "fun bad" and entertain you and I respect that.
Not every movie has to be great; sometimes fun is enough
Even with the minimums, I’ve always found a strange sense of comfort with this rendition of Venom. I found myself caring more about these characters than perhaps the script intended. So I’m happy to say that in the end it does enough to justify the existence of this trilogy – and to such a satisfying degree that I’d rather live in a world where there are Venom movies than a world where there aren’t.
