Elisabeth Sparkle: There was a slight abuse of Substance.. A special thanks in the credits goes to the many extras on the theater stage who got covered in blood. The SubstanceThe Substance tells the story of Elizabeth Sparkle, a celebrity in her 50s who is about to be retired from the industry.
The plot of The Substance is crazy, fresh and unique
An accident leads her to a substance that can create a newer, younger version of her. But there’s a catch: both versions of Elizabeth—the seasoned star and her young counterpart—can exist, but only one can be active at a time, alternating each week. aging theme. As someone who often ponders this aspect of life, I find this a fascinating and subtle exploration. The Substance’s naughty story is elevated by its striking visuals. The visuals here are raw and obscene and definitely not for the faint of heart.
The acting here is nothing special
Camera angles transition from edgy sequences to intimate ones, all enhanced by an immersive audio experience that pulls the viewer deeper into the unsettling world of the film. Demi Moore anchored in The Substance and she is absolutely perfect in her portrayal. For starters, Demi is the bomb, and looking at the journey she takes in this film, one has to wonder if a character with the figure and beauty that Demi has is going to make it, what hope do the rest of us have? Margaret Qualley answers Demi breath for breath, step for step. Dennis Quaid’s portrayal of the repulsive, monstrous boss is handled with almost unnerving ease. For all the praise that The Substance garners, from the acting to the make-up and cinematography, the ending is disappointing.
Overall, The Substance is a thrilling ride and a spectacular entry for the body
Metaphorically, it’s poignant and significant, but if we’re going to judge the sequences based on the literal events that occur, the walls start to crumble. horror.8/10..
